Way of working

Our meticulous approach to project management ensures a seamless transition from concept to delivery. By integrating advanced design techniques, comprehensive prototyping, strategic sourcing, precise machining, rigorous quality control, and efficient logistics, we guarantee top-quality components that meet the highest standards. Here’s an overview of our structured process:

1. Initial consultation and design

We begin by understanding the specific needs and requirements of our clients. Our resident engineers collaborate closely with clients' R&D teams to develop detailed designs using advanced CAD software and casting simulation programs. This early-stage engagement allows us to provide tailored advice and optimise designs for high-quality castings.

2. Prototyping and development

Our on-site engineers engage with our clients early in the development process. In this way, we can leverage our extensive experience to determine the best way to develop a specific casting during the functional analysis. Our expertise in casting, machining and finishing high-quality components, allows us to offer customised advice to our clients. During the prototype phase, our project engineers further develop and refine the casting using advanced casting simulation software.

3. Sourcing and production

We primarily cast products in-house at our own foundries, Gieterij Doesburg (sand moulding) and Fonderie Laval (shell moulding). However, when a project requires resources or components that cannot be produced within the Gietburg Group, we source them from trusted partners. This ensures that we can always provide the best solution for our clients, even when it involves sourcing raw materials or unmachined components externally.

4. Machining and finishing

After casting, components undergo machining processes such as turning, milling, drilling, and boring at Doesburg Components and Brinks Components. Additionally, we provide in-house assembly, ensuring that each part is fully finished and ready for immediate use. This comprehensive approach maintains the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

We also excel in thermal deburring, ensuring every component is perfectly finished and ready for assembly. Our advanced technologies, including manual techniques and fully robotic production lines, guarantee each component is free of defects. Comprehensive cleaning services ensure that components meet strict cleanliness standards required for various industrial applications.

5. Quality control

We adhere to strict quality control measures throughout the development and production process, according to IATF standards. Our Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) team ensures that all components meet the highest industry standards before they are delivered to our clients. This includes thorough inspections and testing, via our own developed cockpit monitoring, to guarantee precision and reliability.

6. Logistics and delivery

At Gietburg, we understand the critical importance of reliable delivery for our clients. This extends beyond merely delivering components on time to ensuring the highest quality of the final product. We dedicate significant time and attention to the logistics process to guarantee a seamless and efficient supply chain.

To support our clients' assembly lines, we maintain a buffer of specific parts for immediate delivery at any time of the day. Our advanced logistics system includes direct digital connections with various customers, allowing for greater flexibility. We utilise our own transporters to ensure accurate and safe delivery of products.
